Jessica Lazar

(Director) is a multi-media director, working both in film and theatre. Originally from Texas, she found a love for storytelling at the local community theatre. The collaborative nature, not just behind the scenes but also with the audience, inspired her to pursue directing. After working for the Cherry Lane Theatre and Hartford Stage, she worked as the Artistic Director and Vice-President of the Metropolis Opera Project. An opera company based in New York City, whose mission was to redefine opera and present opera to a new audience. Over the past couple years she has expanded farther into film, directing several shorts and exploring music videos. She was the 1st assistant director of the feature film Money Matters, and the web series D.I.N.K.s. and also served as associate producer on the short film The Prodigal Mother, among others. The Joshua Show has been an opportunity to rediscover her love of stage. Telling a story both adults and children can connect with, creating an environment for everyone to feel welcomed, and passing on a message we’re proud of makes the whole team work harder everyday.
